Alloy K500

Alloy K500 is a precipitation-hardening Ni-Cu alloy that combines the excellent corrosion properties of Alloy 400 with higher hardness and strength. Even higher values can be achieved when the alloy is cold drawn prior to precipitation hardening. Alloy K500 has good mechanical properties in a wide temperature range.

The corrosion-resistant alloy K500 at a glance

  • Nickel-copper alloy
  • Addition of titanium and aluminum
  • High corrosion resistance
  • Widely used in marine, oil, gas and chemical environments
  • Corrosion resistance in such environments as pure water, non-oxidizing mineral acids, salts and alkalis

The K500 alloy is used in various industries, as part of fasteners, springs, chains, pumps, valve components, scrapers, drive shafts and more.

Product description Alloy K500:

The strength is maintained up to about 540°C and at cryogenic temperatures the material remains strong, tough and ductile. Alloy K500 has good corrosion resistant properties in many different environments. Alloy K500 finds application in valve spindles, pump shafts and impellers, surgical tools, oil drilling tools, electrical components and springs.
